Biovail CRO : Who We Are

Biovail Contract Research was established in 1975 in Toronto, Canada as a small privately held CRO with very few employees. By 2006, we have grown to more than 300 dedicated research professionals based in two locations within Toronto, with corporate clients based from North America and abroad. Biovail Contract Research is a wholly owned division of Biovail Corporation, and operates independently as a contract research organization for the pharmaceutical, biotech and drug delivery companies.

Our modern, FDA-inspected clinical research facilities include 6 clinics with a total capacity of more than 200 beds; and, a modern bioanalytical laboratory for drug and metabolite analysis in biological samples.

The newly renovated headquarters is over 43,000 square feet and houses the four clinics, bioanalytical laboratory, kitchen, pharmacy, and administrative offices. The 10,000 square-foot satellite facility, which is within 2 kilometers of our headquarters and within several feet from the subway and bus station, houses two clinics, a call centre, and subject screening area.

Biovail Contract Research serves as a one-stop shop for early clinical trials in healthy adult volunteers and special population groups, including Phase I and Phase II clinical trials, and bioavailability/bioequivalence studies. Biovail offers to clients the depth and breadth of expertise and experience in conducting more than 3,000 clinical trials in healthy, adult volunteers for various regulatory submissions. We offer more than 150 validated methods for the analysis of drugs and metabolites in biological fluids.
