Clinic Technicians (part-time)

LOCATION:

BIOVAIL CONTRACT RESEARCH – SCARBOROUGH, ON

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

• Carry out pre-study and study related tasks at a high level of consistently and accuracy in the allotted time.
• Catheter insertion
• Blood collection and processing
• Urine and fecal collection and processing
• Laboratory testing (e.g. drug screens, pregnancy testing)
• ECGs
• Anthropometrics
• Glucose Monitoring
• Fluid and meal distribution and supervision
• Drug Administration, mouth checking
• Check-in, check-out
• Bag Search
• Post study medicals
• Volunteer supervision during the restriction periods and non-restriction periods
• Equipment maintenance
• Bundling and Shipping
• General housekeeping (e.g. Making beds, clinic set up)
• Ensure neat, accurate and timely documentation of all study activities.
• Additional tasks may also be assigned based on training and qualifications e.g. Vital Signs, Completion of CRFs training, etc.
• Perform any other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Education:

• Medical Laboratory Assistant or equivalent with at least 6 months to 1 year Bio Centre experience an asset.

Skills:

• Good interpersonal skills, good communication skills. Attentive to details, good initiative, able to work under pressure.
• Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule as well as to adapt to changing priorities.
