POSITION:

Pharmacy Technician

LOCATION:

Biovail Contract Research – Scarborough

REPORTING TO:

Director, Clinical Operations

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Responsible for the operation of BioCentre pharmacy, including: receipt, inventory, preparation and packaging (dispensing, accountability), transportation, reconciliation and disposition of study drug supplies in accordance with the study protocol, implemented procedures, SOP’s, GCP regulations and regulatory bodies.
  • To ensure the accuracy, timely, organized completion of assigned tasks within the BioCentre.
  • To coordinate the acquisition of study drugs for BCR method development studies.
  • To review the study protocol for specific study/operational requirements prior to study drug packaging.
  • To notify and consult Account Representative/CRA and CRCs regarding any difficulties obtaining, or problems with, the study drug.
  • To generate and maintain all pharmacy related records for each study drug.
  • To write and review SOP’s and internal directives as required.
  • To perform any other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  1. Pharmacy Technician Certificate an asset/must have College diploma in Pharmacy Assistant program.
  2. 1 – 2 years drug dispensing experience is desirable.
  3. Must possess basic computer skills, strong written and oral communication skills, good command of the English language, strong ability to organize, plan, and prioritize, and the ability to work independently.
  4. Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule as well as adapt to changing priorities.
