POSITION:

Supervisor, Technical Support

LOCATION:

Scarborough, Ontario

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • To supervise and oversee the performance of Sr. Technicians and Biocentre Technicians in carrying out study related tasks to ensure compliance with all implemented procedures and the accuracy of all generated raw data.
  • To implement 100% QC process on the floor to minimize/avoid unnecessary error.
  • To coordinate the development and implementation of a development program of direct reports to address performance issues.
  • To perform/conduct the preparation and presentation of quarterly and annual performance review of all direct reports.
  • To supervise & assist with the training for Technician on all applicable SOP’s (as training allows) and implemented procedures in accordance with the protocol, SOP’s, GLP, GCP regulations and the regulatory bodies.
  • To act as back-up in all miscellaneous clinical operations’ general duties such as: setting up the clinic for all upcoming studies, preparation of sample collection labels and containers for all upcoming studies, ordering of clinical supplies including supplies inventory, shipment of study samples to analytical facility, making arrangements with outside laboratory for required services.
  • Monitor employees work hours and  approve vacation, sick and  timesheets for payroll.
  • To act as a back-up on all clinical procedures where training and qualification allows.
  • To write and review SOP’s as assigned.
  • Administer discipline and penalty actions
To perform any other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Education:

  • University/College Diploma, Medical Laboratory
  • Assistant Diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years Supervisory experience in clinical research environment.

Skills:

  • Good interpersonal skills, good communication skills.
  • Attentive to details, good initiative and able to work under pressure.
  • Computer skills.
  • Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule as well as to adapt to changing priorities.
